The climate crisis is a crisis of culture, and thus of the imagination.

Collective Imagination
Culture gives us something to work with.
We can feel, sense and shape it in our teams and communities.
We can leap over our constraining beliefs and modes into the realm of possibility.
Exploring this shared imaginary is like discovering a collective super-power.
We don’t need more information, another grim forecast; we need possibility, story, magic.
This speculative place gives us something to work towards, a better goal than chasing fortune or itemising our indiscretions and misdeeds.
We long for a narrative we can buy into and a role to play within it.
This is the stuff of meaning and purpose, cornerstones of wellbeing.
I help steward the Collective Imagination Practice Community, so I’m an integral part of the remarkable flowering of collective imagination practice that this moment needs.
Role-play for possibility
Future Capital Guardians
I created Future Capital Guardians to provide participants with permission to lean-in to a better future.
This card-based role-play game helps participants gain radical new perspectives on how value is created and distributed
“I can’t believe these words are coming from my mouth.” reflected a frankly amazed participant at the 2025 Green Finance Conference
By letting go of the cultural baggage that deadens possibility, participants play distinct roles that give a deep new understanding of the creation and distribution of value.
Not just for preaching to the converted, the game is a great way to get disconnected or sceptical teams on board.
Is it time?
If you and your team are ready to do the work required by our futures, let’s make a start.
I specialise in meeting people where they are, metaphorically speaking, so don’t worry if this agenda seems daunting or sprawling, we’ll find a good way in.
